Cabinet Hardware Jig Terminology

Door Handles

Simple instruction for installing handles on a cabinet door using the TP-1934 Cabinet Hardware Jig

  1. Place hardware to find position you like

2. Measure door from bottom, mark position with pencil

3. Measure door from side

4. Measure hole centers of hardware

5. Transfer hardware measurement to the Sliding Drill Guide bushing and tighten

6. Match bottom measurement with Sliding End Stop and tighten

7. Match side measurement to Large Stop and tighten

8. Position tool as shown, drill through the fixed center bushing for bottom hole

9. Drill through top Sliding Drill Guide bushing for top hole

10. Reverse tool position onto opposite door and drill holes

Drawer Handles

Simple instruction for installing knobs on a drawer front using the TP-1934 Cabinet Hardware Jig

*Use this method if you do not have the TP-ERA

  1. Measure hardware hole spacing

2. Attach two Sliding Drill Guides onto the TP-1934 using the same measurements

3. Tighten Sliding Drill Guides into position, cover the center bushing with tape to avoid accidentally drilling

4. Center on drawer front and drill holes

Door Knobs

  1. Place hardware to find desired position

2. Measure from bottom, mark position with pencil

3. Measure from side

4. Match the Sliding End Stop with your bottom measurement and tighten

5. Match Large Stop to side measurement and tighten

6. Position tool with stops as shown and drill hole through drill bushing

7. Reverse tool position onto opposite door and drill

Drawer Knobs

  1. Measure drawer front width to find center

2. Mark center on top of drawer

3. Measure side of drawer for center

4. Adjust Large Stop to match side measurement

5. Line up notch on center of Large Stop with center mark at top of drawer, then push and hold tool flush against drawer face

6. Drill hole using fixed center drill bushing

Long Drawer Handles

Simple instruction for installing large handles on a drawer front with the TP-1934 Cabinet Hardware Jig + Extension Set + TP-ERA

  1. Method for centering a long pull on a drawer – line up center of one hole with edge of drawer

2. Measure from left of drawer to center of left hole on hardware. Set the Sliding End Stop on the TP-ERA to half the measurement.

3. Mark selected drill bushing with tape on the Extension (Extension Bars included with TP-2312, TP-1935)

4. Adjust Sliding End Stop to the desired distance from the marked bushing

5. Lay the pull alongside the jig, align hardware hole with taped hole

6. Mark the opposite Extension Bar hole with tape

7. Measure height of drawer, use half the amount for center

8. Set the Large Stop and tighten at desired location

9. Hold stops firm against top and side of drawer

10. Drill the holes

11. Long hardware installed

Extended Ruler Attachment

Simple instruction for installing knobs on a drawer front using the TP-ERA Extended Ruler Attachment

  1. Use the Extended Ruler Attachment for quickly repeating settings

2. Align each ruler at the 5″ mark to extend the length of the ruler to 17″

3. Measure drawer width

4. Set Sliding End Stop to half the drawer width

5. Now you are ready to drill an entire drawer bank

6. Perfectly placed hardware

Long Door Handles

Simple instruction for installing handles on tall doors using the TP-1934 Cabinet Hardware Jig + Extension Set + TP-ERA

  1. Use the TP-1934 with Extension Bars and the TP-ERA

2. Slide the Extension Bars onto the TP-1934

3. Tighten thumb screws

4. Measure hardware hole spacing

5. Position hardware by hand to find desired placement, mark the position of bottom hole

6. In our example we are setting the first measurement to 3-1/2″ from the bottom

7. And 1-3/8″ from the side edge of the door

8. Adjust the Sliding End Stop on the TP-ERA to 3-1/2″ from the bottom hole

9. Match the bottom hole on hardware to bottom hole on Extension Bar and mark with tape

10. Match top hole on hardware to matching hole on Extension Bar

11. Mark hole location with tape

12. Adjust Large Stop to 1-3/8″ to match the measurement from side edge

13. Hold side and bottom stops against door, drill bottom hole

14. Drill top hole

15. Reverse tool for opposite door and repeat drilling holes

Shelf Pins

Simple instruction for drilling shelf pin holes using the TP-1934 Cabinet Hardware Jig + Extension Set

  1. Measure and mark desired location

2. Join TP-2312 and TP-1934, adjust to desired length and tighten thumb screws

3. *Optional – Mark your holes with tape for reference

4. Drill front holes

5. Remove Large Stop and press thumb screws against back panel, then drill back holes

6. Perfectly spaced holes every time

Hinge Plates

Simple instruction for installing knobs on a drawer front using the TP-1934 Cabinet Hardware Jig

  1. Mark the center of hinge holes

2. Set Stop Collar to drill depth

3. Tighten drill Stop Collar

4. Set two Sliding Drill Guides side by side, lining up center line with your mark

5. Tip – Sliding Drill Guides produce industry standard 32mm spacing when placed side by side

6. Drill top hinge holes

7. Drill bottom hinge holes
